BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 24
By Eldar Janashvili - Trend:
Dialogue between Azerbaijan's public and private sectors is necessary, Executive Director of the Azerbaijani Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication Vusal Gasimli said.
Gasimli made the remark in Baku at the business meeting of the Azerbaijan-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Trend reports on Jan. 24.
The director said that the dialogue and a joint initiative of the public sector and corporations are necessary to increase the efficiency of tax and legal management, as well as to increase private investment.
Gasimli noted that while the pace of economic growth in the world has slowed, the pace of economic growth in Azerbaijan has accelerated over the past five years.
Bringing the GDP growth from 0.1 percent in 2017 to 2.2 percent in 2019 is an undoubted step forward, the director of the center noted, adding that economic, social, managerial and personnel reforms are decisive factors in accelerating growth.
Gasimli underlined that to achieve these goals, the main issue today is to increase not only the pace, but also the sustainability of growth.
For this, it is necessary to improve the business environment and infrastructure, attract private investors, enter more international markets and continue to develop human capital, Vusal Gasimli added.
