Baku, Azerbaijan, March 12
By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:
Azerbaijan’s payment system, Goldenpay, has curtailed the project of expansion of business in Indonesia and Mongolia, the company told Trend.
“Plans for expansion into the markets of Balkan countries remain in force, and we expect a final response from the international payment systems, Visa International and MasterCard, on this,” the company said.
A preliminary agreement for the provision of clearing services in the Balkan countries was reached with the Austrian Raiffeisen Bank. Goldenpay has been registered in the Bosnia market, which envisages the implementation of a project similar to hesab.az, which acts as a platform for making online payments by users of Visa and MasterCard plastic cards. After Bosnia, the possibility of Goldenpay’s entering into the Serbian market is being considered.
The hesab.az portal, in addition to paying utilities, communication services, internet, TV, and others, allows also repaying bank loans and buying insurance policies.
