BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 1. The current loan portfolio of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's (EBRD) projects in Kyrgyzstan was estimated at 240 million euros as of July 31, 2024, Trend reports.
According to the EBRD, the figure rose by 8 million compared to 232 million euros as of May 31.
The portfolio was designed for the implementation of 81 active projects, which is 2 projects more than as of May 31.
Among these projects, the majority of funding, 75 percent, or 181 million euros, was directed towards sustainable infrastructure.
Additionally, 14 percent, or 34 million euros, was allocated to financial institutions, and the remaining 11 percent, or 26 million euros, was designated for industry, commerce, and agriculture.
In total, the EBRD's cumulative investments in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 996 million euros across 248 projects as of July 31, 2024.
The share of the private sector in the entire investment portfolio of the bank in Kyrgyzstan was 25 percent.
