Turkmenistan reduces cotton export to Portugal

The volume of Turkmen cotton exported to Portugal in June 2021 amounted to 231,364 Euros, decreasing by 278,818 Euros compared to May 2021 (510,182 tons), Trend reports referring to Eurostat.

According to Eurostat, the largest volume of Portugal’s import from Turkmenistan from January through June 2021 accounted for cotton, amounting to 1.59 million Euros in value terms and 11,970 tons in physical terms.

It is reported that during the reporting period Turkmenistan exported to Portugal goods worth 1.64 million Euros in the amount of 11,406 tons.

Also, in 1H2021 Portugal imported from Turkmenistan knitted or crocheted fabrics for 55,450 Euros in the amount of 0,308 tons.

In turn, Turkmenistan in 1H2021 imported from Portugal goods worth 4.5 million Euros in the amount of 1, 688 tons.

It is reported that during reporting period Portugal mainly exported to Turkmenistan furniture, bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings, lamps and lighting fittings in the amount of 1, 534 tons for 4.2 million Euros.

Also, significant volume of Portuguese ceramic products was to Turkmenistan, which accounted for 336,613 Euros in the amount of 0,128 tons.

In addition, Turkmenistan imported from Portugal construction materials (stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica) for 7, 735 Euros, paper and paperboard – 6,874 Euros, dyes, pigments and other coloring matter – 260 Euros, organic chemicals – 128 Euros and nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances – 108 Euros.
