By Klavdiya Romakayeva - Trend:

The main directorate for the development of the food industry with the maximum number of management personnel in the amount of 12 staff units has been formed in the structure of the central office of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing Nuz.uz information agency.

The post of deputy minister of agriculture - head of the main directorate for the development of the food industry - was introduced.

In order to develop the food industry at the expense of the Fund for the Development of Agriculture and Food Supply, it is planned to cover 50 percent of the costs of preparing a feasibility study for the emerging new promising projects for the production of food products in an amount not exceeding 100 million soums ($9,739) for each project.

It is also planned to cover 50 percent of the costs of providing infrastructure for new promising projects for the production of food products in the amount not exceeding 100 million soums ($9,739) for each project, as well as costs of attracting foreign experts.

According to the decree signed by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev “on measures to accelerate the development of the food industry of the republic and full provision of the population with high-quality food products” the Uzbekozikovkatholding holding company is being liquidated. A commission is formed to liquidate the Uzbekozikovkatholding holding.

Uzbekozikovkatholding was established on the basis of the Association of Food Industry Enterprises of Uzbekistan in the spring of 2016. In January 2019, the president signed a decree to liquidate the holding within two months and create a self-governing organization in the food industry. However, this solution was not implemented.
