The grain clusters and farmers will have the right to freely sell wheat at market prices in Uzbekistan from 2022, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev talked on this matter during a conference dedicated to the development of agriculture.
At the same time, clusters and farms are obliged to put up 2.5 tons of grain from each hectare for exchange trading within three years, and they will be able to sell the rest of the crop at their discretion.
The president noted that grain processing enterprises within Ozdonmahsulot joint-stock company, will be put up for auction to create grain-growing clusters on their basis.
In addition, the president instructed to conduct an analysis and revision of ineffective lands that are not suitable for growing cotton and grain crops for re-profiling them for other needs. These areas will be transferred to private farmers on a competitive basis.
