Heydar Aliyev International Airport is ready to receive participants and tourists who will arrive in Baku for the 'Eurovision-2012' song contest, a spokesman for Azerbaijan Airlines Maharram Safarli told Trend today.
He said the airport building has been recently modernised and is fully ready to receive all the passengers and guests.
In particular, the main facade of the airport building was completely covered with two-layer laminated glass as part of the modernisation.
"Many changes were made inside the building," Safarli said.
In particular, 10 booths for smoking were installed in the arrival and departure halls of the North and South airport terminals. Four robots informing passengers about the rules of safety were installed in the halls of both terminals.
The floor and ceiling coverings of the airport building and the monitors were completely replaced and the number of exits doubled.
The process of passing customs control was simplified at the airport. The cargo compartment equipped with modern equipment, was modernised, Safarli said.
He said the area of the airport was expanded. All conditions were created for passengers arriving in the capital to freely and quickly take a taxi.
