The next congress of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party will be held by the deadline stipulated by its charter, Deputy Chairman Ali Ahmadov told Trend today.
"The date is fixed in the charter," he said. "The party chairman must give instructions to convene the congress or the decision of the board or the party's political council. Moreover, the congress can be initiated upon the party members' request stipulated by the charter."
He said the last congress was held in August 2008.
According to the charter, the congress must be conducted at least once every four years.
