By Leman Zeynalova - Trend:

Danish Ørsted A/S (formerly DONG Energy), a global leader in offshore wind, monitors markets for possibilities to expand its business, the company told Trend.

“We have built a world leading position in offshore wind and converted our central heat and power plants from coal to biomass,” said the company.

Ørsted A/S said it produces electricity from offshore wind, biomass and coal.

“We produce power in Denmark, Germany, UK and US. On an ongoing basis we monitor markets for possibilities to expand our offshore wind business,” said the company.

As for the prospects for cooperation with Azerbaijan, Ørsted A/S said it has no plans entering the market in Azerbaijan.

Ørsted A/S (formerly DONG Energy) is a power company based in Fredericia, Denmark. It is the largest energy company in Denmark.

The company constructs and operates offshore wind farms in Denmark, the UK, Germany and the Netherlands. It also has development projects in Taiwan and the US.

The company’s eight central bioenergy power plants produce electricity and district heating. There is also one heat plant and one peak load plant.

In 2017, Ørsted A/S divested its upstream oil and gas business, thereby completing its transformation to become fully dedicated to green energy.

The company has more than halved its carbon emissions over the past decade, and will have reduced them by 96 percent by 2023.
