Iran looks to improve maritime trade

TEHRAN, Iran, Oct.14

Iran is expecting to improve maritime trade by upgrading fleet and maritime safety, said Jalil Eslami, an official with the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran, Trend reports.

Iran is currently shipping 80 percent of its goods via maritime transportation, Eslami noted.

Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran has implemented various measures, following the COVID-19 spread, and vaccination of some 85,000 mariners, as well as secure cargo transportation to different destinations.

Iran is planning to develop and upgrade its maritime fleet, increase and control maritime safety, solve national challenges of national fleet and promoting quality and quantity of mariners' training to boost maritime trade.
