Uzbek commodity exchange reports volume of goods sold within Mar. 1-7

Goods worth 1.3 billion soums ($123,949) were sold on all trading platforms of the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange (UZEX) for the period from March 1 to 7, which is 14.3 percent more than in the previous week, Trend reports referring to UZEX.

According to UZEX, the total volume of transactions involving small businesses and private entrepreneurship amounted to 525.1 billion soums ($50 million). As a result of online auctions for public procurement, the total savings of budgetary and corporate customers amounted to 23.8 billion soums ($2.3 million).

It is reported that during the reporting period commodity resources worth 1.2 billion ($114,414) soums were sold at open exchange auctions.

Thus, last week, 6,431 tons of cottonseed oil were exposed, of which 3,007 tons, or 46.7 percent, were sold. On average, 54 buyers took part in the exchange trades daily.

It is noted that the daily average price for all varieties of cottonseed oil during the period under review decreased from 12,638 soums ($1.2) to 11,952 soums ($1.14) per ton, or by nine percent.

By the end of the week, the weekly quotation of the first grade of cottonseed oil amounted to 12,933 soums ($1.23) per ton.

At the same time, an insignificant increase in prices for sugar was recorded on the exchange. During the past week, 16,936 tons of sugar were put up for sale, of which 15,703 tons, or 92.7 percent, were sold.

The daily average price for sugar of all categories insignificantly increased from 7,017 soums ($0.67) to 7,152 soums ($0.68) per ton. According to the results of exchange trading, the weekly weighted average price for local sugar of the third category amounted to 7,031 soums per ton ($0.67).

In addition, during the past week, 212,467 tons of cement were put up for sale, of which 192,578 tons, or 90.6 percent, were sold. The daily volume of cement sales averaged 38,500 tons.

During the period under review, the daily average price for cement of all brands decreased from 658,600 soums ($62.79) to 630,500 soums ($60.12) per ton, or by 4.2 percent.
