TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 16. Uzbekistan’s number of POS (point-of-sale) terminals amounted to 429,182 as of October 1, 2023, Trend reports.
As per data provided by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the number of POS terminals in Uzbekistan declined by 0.7 percent year-on-year (432,269 terminals as of October 1, 2022).
Uzbekistan’s Xalq Bank operates the largest number of POS terminals in the reporting period (46,990), followed by National Bank (40,929) and Agrobank (40,736).
The bank’s report shows that among the 33 banks in the country, the smallest number of POS terminals operate in the following banks:
Saderat Bank Tashkent: 27
HAYOT BANK - 23
AVO Bank – 11
Meanwhile, the volume of plastic bank cards in circulation in Uzbekistan amounted to 41.4 million as of October 1, 2023.
As per Uzbekistan’s Central Bank, the recorded number reflects a 30 percent increase compared to the same period last year, when the volume of cards was fixed at 31.8 million.
