Iranian insurance company says its capital increased 30%

Dana Insurance Company, a leading Iranian insurance firm, says it has increased its capital by 30 percent over the past four years.

Bizhan Sadeq, the head of Dana Insurance Company, says the company has already increased its capital to $625 million (20 trillion rials), Ibena (Iranian banks and economy news agency) reported.

According to Sadeq, the company’s capital in 2013 stood at $187.5 million (6 trillion rials).

He added that insurance penetration rate in the country has reached 2 percent.

Central Insurance of Iran earlier announced that the average insurance spending per capita in Iran currently stands at $100.

The Central Bank of Iran’s statistics suggest that the gross expenditure of an urban household stands at $740 (29 million rials) per month in the country.
