The Kyrgyz and Iranian presidents are committed to expanding bilateral cooperation, Iranian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Manouchehr Moradi said.
"The relations between Iran and Kyrgyzstan are at a high level," he told Trend today.
He said that Iran established relations with Kyrgyzstan, as well as with other CIS countries after the USSR collapse.
He added that from the first days of Kyrgyzstan's independence, the political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries were established at a high level.
"The two countries signed many agreements in several areas," he said.
"Mutual visits of officials of different levels are regularly conducted."
Ambassador said that bilateral cooperation of two countries within regional and international organizations are also at a high level, which is the result of several factors.
"First of all, this is warm attitude of the two countries to each other and their interest in strengthening friendship," he said.
Another factor is the relations between the two countries in cultural, religious and historical spheres that can be seen while celebrating Novruz holiday.
Moreover, there are also the efforts of the leaders of the two countries to intensify bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Iran, the ambassador said.
"During my activity as ambassador, the trend of expanding the relations between the two countries continued," he said.
Moradi said that there is full understanding in the political sphere between the two countries.
The mutual visits of heads of provinces of the two countries were also held, he said.
