Azerbaijan was elected as a member of the Finance Committee of the Supreme Council of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
Azerbaijan is the first CIS country to be represented in one of three committees of the IRENA Supreme Council, the Azerbaijani Embassy in United Arab Emirates told Trend on Wednesday.
This testifies to the strengthening of Azerbaijan's economic power. This also suggests that Azerbaijan's foreign policy is gaining the confidence of the international community.
IRENA also attaches immense importance to its relations with Azerbaijan and considers a further partnership with the country as a priority, the embassy reported.
