Azerbaijani MP Aydin Mirzazade has praised the resolution on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue by the Columbia Senate, including the recognition of Khojaly tragedy as the genocide as another victory of Azerbaijani diplomacy, and said the Parliament has sent appreciation letter to Columbia in this regard.

Mirzazade noted that the just cause of Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is supported in the document, and it also openly stated that Khojaly was occupied by Armenians, and the tragedy of the century was committed there.

"Specification of these moments is very significant and important. Today, Azerbaijan has no diplomatic representation in Colombia; Colombia also doesn't have a diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan. But despite this, the adoption of such an important document in such a
distant country like Colombia, shows once again that Azerbaijan reality, Azerbaijani diplomacy is supported outside the country," he said.

The MP proposed to send appreciation letter on behalf of the Azerbaijani Parliament to the Chairman of the Senate of Columbia.

"It is also necessary to create inter-parliamentary friendship group between Azerbaijan and Columbia, and I will be the member of this group with pleasure." Mirzazade said.

Chairman of the Parliament Oktay Asadov accept the proposal of the MP with appreciation.
