Azerbaijani air forces conduct drills using Su-25 attack jets

Azerbaijani Air Forces conducted training flights with the Su-25 (Frogfoot) aircrafts, according to a message from Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.
The message said the Defense Ministry's Chief Inspectorate inspected the readiness of the jets, in accordance with the plan of the combat training for 2014, approved by Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov.
Su-25 was developed in the Soviet Union by the Sukhoi Design Bureau. It was designed to provide close air support for the Soviet Ground Forces. The first prototype made its maiden flight on February 22, 1975.
The combat exercises involving Su-25 were conducted in order to test the jets' readiness.
Following the flights, the training, practical actions and professionalism of the Azerbaijani pilots, participating in these flights, were highly assessed.
