US Government ready to grant aid in raising emergency aid quality in Azerbaijan

Traffic accidents, gas asphyxiation and drowning are on the top of incidents statistics in Azerbaijan and shall be taken into consideration, reportedly said Jason Highland, US temporary charge daffairs in Azerbaijan, speaking June 16 at the Conference on Injury Surveillance and Prevention.

В"It is necessary to raise quality of emergency aid as much as possible to change the state of affairsВ", - Mr Highland said, underlining that В"USA is a close friend and partner to Azerbaijan and one of the spheres of active cooperation is namely health protection sphereВ".

American diplomat said although new Emergency Medicine Imitative Program covers only the areas directly adjoining the pipelines, the range of cooperation will be expanded. В"This is the first program USAID executes at private companies supportВ", - Mr Highland said, adding within the program it is suggested to develop emergency aid infrastructure in Yevlakh, Shamkir and Kurdamir areas and establish training centers in Ganja and Baku.

Emergency Medicine Imitative Program in Azerbaijan is executed at support of International Medical Corps and ministries of health and emergency response of the republic.

The program is financially supported by Chevron, Amerada Hess, BP, SCP, Engender Health Рё IMC.
