Members Rejecting Party Ideas and Principles Put Themselves Outside – Deputy Chairman of Ruling Party

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The Deputy Chairman of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), Ali Ahmadov, reported that the party is a monolith and is proud of it internal stability. He stressed that the lastest media reports on 'some developments' within the party have no serious grounds.

In reply to statements by former party members, Sirus Tebrizli, ex-deputy chairman of NAP, and Ali Insanov, a member of the Managing Board, Ahmadov assured their comments cannot weaken the party. "The motives and reasons for charging Insanov are clear. He is convicted of very serious crimes. But instead of raising arguments testifying his innocence, he makes political statements," Ahmadov emphasized.

According to Ahmadov, these actions and lack of ability to defend himself are further proof that Insanov has never been loyal to the party and its ideals.

With respect to the civil suit filed by Insanov, Ahmadov noted that it does not have any grounds and voiced his hope that the court will deliver a fair sentence.
