Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Alizade / "Only an element of the criticisms in the resolution of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) regarding Azerbaijan is objective and this needs to be fully analysed," said the Head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the PACE, MP Samad Seyidov, at the press conference during the PACE spring session.

Seyidov stressed that if the objective criticisms reflect the real processes in Azerbaijan, then this needs to be eliminated through constructive co-operation with the Council of Europe. "Part of the criticisms in the report result from a contradictory and biased approach to Azerbaijan. We should fully analyze these issues. We should investigate the reasons for it and act so as to avoid double standards. And we need to develop positive tendencies which are reflected in the document," Seyidov stressed.

He said that the majority of the document of the co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan is positive. According to Seyidov, irrespective of their insistence, the members of the Armenian delegation were not able to make changes to item 9.2 of the report regarding Azerbaijan. "Except Armenia, 46 Council of Europe member-countries again recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan," Seyidov underlined.
