BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. Minister of the Environment and Energy Kostas Skrekas will visit Baku in the coming days as part of strengthening contacts and ensuring the country's energy security, Trend reports citing Greek media.

Minister Skrekas will hold meetings with Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, with whom he met last July in Alexandroupolis during the opening of the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector (IGB), as well as with representatives of the State Oil and Gas Company SOCAR.

Greece receives Azerbaijani gas in the amount of 1 billion cubic meters per year through the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), which is the European part of the Southern Gas Corridor.

Azerbaijan’s gas exports to Europe began on December 31, 2020 with the commissioning of the Southern Gas Corridor comprising of the South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion, the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) and the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).
