Georgia sells 98.26 percent of Poti airport's shares

Georgia sells 98.26 percent of shares of the Poti airport. The government will consider a draft of the presidential decree at the meeting on Oct.9, Georgian Regional Development and Infrastructure Minister David Tkeshelashvili said before the governmental meeting.  

This is a direct sale of shares of the company, which should build an industrial zone in Poti.

According to Tkeshelashvili, under the initial version the project the company is expected to pay $1 million for the shares. Regarding the construction of the airport, then it is necessary to invest several million dollars in the resettlement of the primary infrastructure.

Agreement with the company has not been formalized yet. "The government will discuss this project and if it is approved, will formalize a relevant agreement," Tkeshelashvili said.
