Agricultural products cheapen in Azerbaijan

In July, the production prices of agricultural products in Azerbaijan fell by 3.4 percent compared to June, but in January and July, grew by 12.4 percent as compared to the same period of the last year, the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan reported.

The production prices for livestock products declined in July by 2.6 percent as compared to the previous month, but in the first seven months, increased by 11.7 percent as compared to the same period of the last year.

Cattle in live weight and food from them during the month fell 0.5 percent, sheep and goats in live weight, milk from these animals and wool rose 0.7 percent, poultry in live weight and egg fell by 11.5 percent.

The production prices for grains and beans during the month decreased by 3.6 percent, for vegetables and melons - by 6.2 percent, perennials - one percent.

Prices for forestry products in July remained unchanged during the month, but declined by 5.3 percent during the year, the fish and fishery products - rose 0.3 percent during the month, but fell by 5.2 percent during the year.

Over the first seven months of 2011, the agricultural production in Azerbaijan grew by 10.2 percent, including crop production - by 15.1 percent, livestock - by 4.8 percent, as compared to the same period of the last year.

In January-July, the amount of agricultural production totaled 2.702 billion manat.

Over seven months, the total value of goods and services produced in the country's forestry was 413,200 manat, fish were caught in amount of 63,100 manat.
