The World Bank intends to allocate $ 15 million for restoration of irrigated lands in Kyrgyzstan. It was stated at today's session of the parliamentary Committee on Land and Agriculture Issues, Water Resources, Environment and Regional Development, 24.kg news agency reported.

According to the head of the State Committee on Water Management and Land Reclamation Ziyadin Zhamaldinov, donors are ready to start funding the second farm irrigation project. "Assistance is provided in the grant - $ 6.7 million and credit forms - $ 8.3 million," he said.

The Committee member Talantbek Uzakbayev noted that it is necessary to monitor the implementation of the project on irrigated lands restoration and raise public awareness.

As a result, the Committee approved an agreement.
