In January-November 2018, Azerbaijan imported 22,714 vehicles, which is 2.3 times more than the figure for the same period of 2017, Trend reports, referring to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (SCC).
Of the total number of vehicles imported in January-November 2018, 20,429 are cars and motor vehicles. This figure increased by two times over the year.
During the reporting period, 1,938 trucks (almost doubled over the year), 235 buses and other motor vehicles that could hold ten or more passengers (40 percent increase over the year) and 112 special-purpose vehicles (64.7 percent increase over the year).
In terms of value, the total import volume of all types of vehicles amounted to $784.4 million. They accounted for 7.62 percent of total imports of Azerbaijan.
In 2017, Azerbaijan imported 13,098 vehicles compared to 5,746 in 2016.
