More than 680 tons of bony fish caught in Iran's Kiashahr

Starting from October 7, 2018, more than 680 tons of bony fish have been caught on the coast of the port town of Kiashahr in Iran’s northern Gilan Province, Hassan Ghasempour, Director of the Fisheries Department of Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh County in Iran’s Gilan Province, told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Ghasempour, there are 11 fishing cooperatives in the region.

Ghasempour added that more than 463 tons of kutum (Caspian white fish), 196 tons of mullet, 63 kg of carp and 21 tons of other bony fish were caught.

Ghasempour said that the caught fish was transferred to three centers.

Kiashahr has about 14,000 inhabitants.
