Exports of Iran's Zanjan province up by 40%

In the last Iranian year (March 21, 2018-March 20, 2019), exports of Iran's Zanjan province amounted to $461.8 million in terms of value, Director General of Zanjan Customs Administration Hamid Ahmadi said, Trend reports via IRNA.

In terms of value, Zanjan's exports increased by 40 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year ($329.7 million) (March 21, 2017-March 20, 2018), Ahmadi said.

However, in the last year, in terms of weight, the province exported 184,000 tons of goods which shows an increase of 10 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (166,000 tons), he added.

Last year, Zanjan exported 10 types of goods to 48 countries, Ahmadi said, adding that zinc, copper, lead and aluminum exports were leading in the list in terms of value.

On the other hand, Zanjan imported 340,000 tons of goods for $271 million in the last Iranian year, which indicates 17 percent decrease in terms of value, and 4 percent increase in terms of weight, compared to the preceding year, the customs official added.

Zanjan exported goods from 45 countries, he noted.

Compared to previous years, the total income of Zanjan Customs Administration decreased by 4 percent and amounted to 1.81 trillion rials (roughly $43.2 million), he said.
