Average cost of purchased vehicle in Kazakhstan up by 9%

The number of cars purchased in Kazakhstan in the first quarter of 2019 stood at 13 289 new light and light commercial vehicles worth of 120.8 billion tenge, Trend reports citing KazAutoProm, Kazakhstan Association of Automotive Industry.

Reportedly, a third of consumers preferred cars worth less than 5 million tenge, KazAutoProm said in its report on Q1 2019.

“Average cost of the purchased vehicle amounted to 8.4 million tenge, which is 9 percent more than last year. While the average cost of Kazakh manufactured cars totaled 6.5 million tenge, and the average cost of the imported cars reached 10.3 million tenge,” reads the message.

Reportedly, based on the statistics for January-March, a third of customers preferred cars worth about 5 million tenge. "Last year this price segment accounted for 34.5 percent of market. As for the price rage of 5 million tenge to 7 million tenge, only 18.7 percent of the manufactured goods were purchased (2 490 purchases). That is a one percent increase compared to last year."

"Only 12.4 percent of customers chose to purchase a car in the 7 to 10 million tenge price range, 7 percent less compared to the same period of 2018," reads the message.

"Business class (10 to 15 million tenge) and premium class (15 million tenge and more) car purchases totaled at 26.7 percent (3 542 purchases) and 11.2 percent (1 483 purchases), respectively. Added together that is an increase of 19.5 percent compared to the last year and now accounts for 37.8 percent of the primary market. This increase is related to introduction of more accessible rage of business class vehicles," said in the report.

Reportedly, Kazakh produced cars account for the half of the most accessible light vehicles. "Thus, Kazakh-manufactured Lada Granta proved to be the most accessible vehicle with the retail price of 3.1 million tenge and more. Top-10 of the most accessible cars includes Lada4x4 (3,52 million tenge), Ravon Nexia (3.82 million tenge), Renault Logan (3,94 million tenge), Chevrolet Niva (3,99 million tenge), Lifan Solano II (4,41 million tenge), Lifan X50 (4,61 million tenge), Lada Largus (4,25 million tenge), Renault Sandero (4,63 million tenge) и Lifan X60 (5,1 million tenge)."

"In contrast, the list of the most expensive vehicles includes Porsche 911 Turbo (61,8 million tenge), BMW i8 (60,9 million tenge), BMW 8 series (50 million tenge), Audi А7/A8 (49,2 million tenge) and Mercedes-Benz G-klass (47,1 million tenge), Lexus LS (41,3 million tenge), Mercedes-Benz S-klass (40,9 million tenge), BMW 7 series (40,6 million tenge), Audi Q8 (39,1 million tenge) and Land Rover Range Rover (38,4 million tenge)," reads the message.
