Tehran, Iran, May 24

Trend:

There are great opportunities to export Iran's technical products to Caspian Sea states and other regional countries, Managing Director of Anzali Free Zone Reza Masrour told Trend.

"One of our early attempts was to convert the Anzali Free Zone into a tech hub for knowledge-based companies. Currently, there are some 87 high-tech and industrial companies active in the region, in addition to the innovation growth center," he said.

The innovation growth center, Masrour said, is under construction and will start operating within one year.

Regarding the tech companies, Masrour said that a number of valid companies in IT industry have started their work by the end of last year, Hezar Dastan Khazar Co is one of them.

"The company hired some 60 people. The rest of the companies have various plans for the future and plan to increase the employment of people as well," he said.

Masrour said that the Anzali Free Trade Zone has some 20 industrial textile units with 2,000-work force, and this can change the region into a textile hub.

"In the previous years, the Anzali Free Trade Zone was the top clothes producer in the world," he said.

The official predicted that the investment volume in Anzali Free Zone will grow 10 to 15 percent in the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019).
