Import Price Index decreases in Georgia

In December 2019, the Import Price Index (MPI) in Georgia decreased by 2.4 percent compared to November 2019, while compared to December 2018 the MPI increased by 8.6 percent, Trend reports referring to the Georgian National Statistical Office (Geostat).

In December 2019, the prices were 8.7 percent higher for manufactured products compared to December 2018. With regard to electrical energy, gas, steam and hot water, the prices were 8.1 percent lower.

In December 2019, the Export Price Index (XPI) decreased by 0.5 percent compared to the November 2019. There was a 0.6 percent decrease in the prices for manufactured products.

Compared to December 2018 the XPI increased by 11.1 percent. In the mentioned period, the prices were higher for manufactured products by 8.4 percent.

In December 2019, the Domestic Producer Price Index for Industrial Products (DPPI) decreased by 0.5 percent compared to the November 2019. In the mentioned period, the prices were 0.5 percent lower for manufactured products, while for electrical energy, gas, stream and hot water the prices decreased by 0.8 percent.

Compared to December 2018, the DPPI increased by 6.6 percent. There was an increase in the prices for manufactured products (7.8 percent), electrical energy, gas, stream and hot water (1.7 percent) and also, for products from mining and quarrying (4.1 percent).
