Azerbaijan discloses trade surplus with Romania

Export from Azerbaijan to Romania in total amounted to $101.5 million as of 2020, which shows a decline in comparison with 2019 by 27.1 percent, Trend reports with reference to the statistics bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

Thus, the share of Romania in the total export of Azerbaijan increased from 0.71 percent to 0.74 percent.

By late 2020, import of Romanian products to Azerbaijan increased from $57.4 million to $62.6 million for the year (an increase of nine percent).

Romania's share in the total import of Azerbaijan amounted to 0.58 percent of the total volume compared to 0.42 percent in 2019.

The volume of foreign trade operations between the two countries amounted to $164.1 million, which shows a decrease in comparison with 2019 by 16.5 percent.

The balance of foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Romania for the reporting year remained positive, amounting to $38.8 million.

In general, as of 2020, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $24.5 billion. More than $13.7 billion or 56.15 percent of that volume, accounted for export, while the remaining $10.7 billion, or 43.85 percent, for import.
