Iran continues investments for dev't of postal network

TEHRAN, Iran, May 10

The head of the Iran National Post Company announced that during the past five months, the company invested over $47 million to buy trucks, vans, sorters, and services to develop a postal network.

The mentioned investments were due to modernization, speed up and upgrade the country's postal network, the head of the Iran National Post Company Ramezanali Sobhanifar said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"One of the main tasks of the company is a safe and fast delivery of items to the people,” he said. "To achieve these two goals, we simultaneously purchased about 4,000 distribution devices. These distribution devices will enter the country's postal network at the end of May,” he added.

Sobhanifar went on to say that in order to increase the speed of job in the distribution sector, Iran purchased 400 vans, as well as 40 trucks which will be added to the country's postal network to speed up the distribution of inter-provincial shipments.

“The Mechanized sorting has been on the agenda of the National Post Company,” he said.

He added that five postal hubs were opened in the country last several months. These areas have had a significant impact on accelerating the distribution of shipments.
