The volume of production of building materials in Uzbekistan is planned to increase to $2.2 billion by the end of 2021, first deputy chairman of the board of the Uzpromstroymaterialy Association, Azizbek Bakhodirov said, Trend reports referring to Uzbek media.
In 2016, the volume of exports of building materials amounted to $55 million, at the end of 2021 the figure is projected to reach $288 million, he said.
According to him, in 2021, investments in this industry amounted to $1.6 billion.
In accordance with Bakhodirov, by 2026 it is planned to increase the volume of production of building materials to $3.9 billion, and the share of products with high added value to 53 percent.
Five years ago, this figure was 32.3 percent, Bakhodirov said.
He added that the growth of exports of construction products by the 2026 is expected to be $505 million.
