Kazakhstan's TOP-3 trade partners for 8M2021 announced

Kazakhstan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $62.8 billion over the period from January through August 2021, which indicates an increase of 10 percent as compared to $57.09 billion during the same period last year, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The largest share of Kazakhstan’s foreign trade over the reporting period accounted for Russia with $14.7 billion in trade, which is 26.5 percent more than $11.6 billion over the same period of 2020. Russia accounted for 23.5 percent of Kazakhstan’s total foreign trade during the reporting period of 2021.

Kazakhstan’s export to Russia amounted to $4.4 billion ($3.1 billion over the 8M2020), whereas imports equaled $10.3 billion ($8.5 billion over 8M2020)

Russia is followed by China with a share of 18.4 percent in the total foreign trade turnover. China’s trade with Kazakhstan grew by 10.3 percent year-on-year from $10.4 billion over the first eight months of 2020 to $11.5 billion in the same period of 2021.

Kazakhstan’s export to China amounted to $6.3 billion ($6.6 billion over 8M2020), whereas imports amounted to $5.2 billion ($3.8 billion over 8M2020).

The third-largest trade partner of Kazakhstan was Italy with $5.7 billion in trade, which is 8.2 percent more than $5.2 billion over the same period of 2020. Italy accounted for 91. percent of Kazakhstan’s total foreign trade during the reporting period of 2021.

Kazakhstan's export to Italy stood at $5.1 billion ($4.6 billion over 8M2020), whereas imports equaled $521.3 million ($618.2 million over 8M2020).
