BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 26. Iran imported 33.6 million tons of goods worth $53.7 billion, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023), Director General of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Mohammad Rezvanifar said, Trend reports citing the administration.
According to him, Iran's imports for the reporting period increased by 15.2 percent in value, while decreasing by 8.61 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
“Within 11 months, Iran imported goods worth $16.5 billion from the UAE, $14.2 billion from China, $15.6 billion from Türkiye, $2.6 billion from India, and $1.8 billion from Germany. The mentioned 5 countries accounted for 75.7 percent of the country’s total imports for 11 months in value and 65.1 percent in volume," Rezvanifar added.
The director general said that Iran imported 22.6 million tons of essential products worth $17.8 billion within the mentioned period, which accounted for 33 percent of Iran's total imports in value and 67 percent in volume.
Generally, Iran's foreign trade turnover amounted to about 145 million tons worth approximately $103 billion in 11 months.
