Antimonopoly department revealed audio and video forgery and piracy

The Antimonopoly Department with the Ministry of Economic Development ha led a monitoring in 20 legal entities that sell audio and video products goods. Trend reports with reference to the ministrys release, the monitoring aimed at investigation of forgery and piracy.

The monitoring resulted in finding unbranded CD, audio and video cassettes. The agents also revealed production sale without supplementary documents confirming origin and price, seizing over 1,700 items.

According to the preliminary results, the forgery and consequent piracy was proved. Taking into consideration their production by local studios, in the closest time the Department is going to check the enterprises manufacturing these items.
