Six companies to participate in tender for construction of wind power plants in Turkey

Six companies will take part in the tender held as part of the YEKA RES-2 project aimed at building wind power plants in Turkey.

Six companies will take part in the tender held as part of the YEKA RES-2 project aimed at building wind power plants in Turkey, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey.

The report notes that such companies as Enercon Rüzgar Enerji Santrali Kurulum Hizmetleri Ltd. Şti, Enerjisa Üretim Santralleri AŞ, Eze İnşaat AŞ, İklim Elektrik Yatırım Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, Beyçelik Elewan Yenilenebilir Enerji Üretim AŞ and Gem Wind Enerji Sanayi Ticaret AŞ. will take part in the tender, which is scheduled for May 30, 2019.

"Wind power plants will be built in the Turkish provinces of Aydin and Canakkale, and a further two plants will be built in Mugla Province as well," the ministry reports.

It was earlier announced that within two years, 10 wind power plants will be built in Turkey.

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak previously noted that Turkey plans to invest $1 billion in the development of renewable energy sources.

Albayrak added that the construction of new power plants will strengthen Turkey's energy security and reduce its dependence on other countries.

In his words, the new project on the development of renewable energy sources will provide jobs for about 3,750 people.
