The total production of petroleum products in Azerbaijan amounted to 3.1 billion manat ($1.8 billion) from January through December 2019, which is 3.2 percent less compared to the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to the report of Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee.
Currently, Azerbaijan’s only producer of petroleum products State Oil Company SOCAR is working to upgrade existing refining capacities due to the increase in fuel consumption in the country.
Azerbaijan produced 4.7 million tons of petroleum products in 2018 exceeding the indicator of 2017, which was equal to 4.6 million ton.
According to the committee, the production of diesel increased by 8 percent, naphtha by 20.7 percent, and fuel oil - 18.7 percent.
