BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 13. Iran’s gas production from the Dey and Aghar gas fields in Fars Province (southern Iran) is expected to increase by 7 million cubic meters per day, by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2023), Executive Director of Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC), Mehdi Heydari said, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.

Heydari noted that at present, a two-stage plan for increasing gas production from the Aghar and Dey fields is being implemented.

“According to the first stage, Iran’s daily gas production from the Aghar gas field is planned to be increased by 3 million cubic meters and from the Dey field – by 4 million cubic meters per day,” he added.

Heydari said that under the second stage, gas production from the mentioned 2 fields is planned to be increased by 18 million cubic meters per day. As a result, Iran’s daily gas production from these two fields is estimated to be increased by 25 million cubic meters in about 24 months.

The director also pointed out that about $177 million should be spent to increase production from the Aghar and Dey gas fields.

The Iranian Central Oil Fields Company has 84 oil and gas fields in 11 provinces of Iran. So far, 13 gas fields and 13 oil fields have been developed.

At present, the ICOFC has the capacity to extract about 250,000 barrels of crude oil and 250 million cubic meters of gas per day.
