The State Assets Management Agency (SAMA) and the Uzbek-Oman Investment Company (UOIC) agreed to strengthen close cooperation in attracting foreign investment to the national economy of Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing the press service of SAMA.
The Management Board of UzAssets JSC under the State Asset Management Agency held an introductory working meeting with the Uzbek-Oman Investment Company (UOIC), which was attended by the General Director Aown Al Bahrani, Acting Chairman of the Management Board Akram Mukhamatkulov, and individuals from both organizations.
Representatives of UzAssets JSC presented a corporate presentation of the company, information on the goals and objectives of attracting strategic and portfolio investors through the sale of blocks of shares in state-owned companies.
The sides outlined the importance of sharing experience on effective asset management, working with investors, and attracting direct investments to Uzbekistan.
In addition, detailed information was provided on the essence and goals of the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan "On measures to accelerate the reform of enterprises with the participation of the state and the privatization of state assets", according to which more than 600 assets of state-owned enterprises from various promising sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan are subject to sale.
At the same time, UOIC acquainted the team of UzAssets JSC with the work of the company, the main directions of investment, and corporate activities.
The parties discussed prospects and opportunities for cooperation in attracting private investment, assisting in organizing road-show programs (presentations made in various locations leading up to an initial public offering) and investment forums.
