Cargo transportation by Azerbaijan Railways CJSC amounted to 10.8 million tons in the first nine months of 2020, the company told Trend.
According to the company, more than 3.85 million tons of total cargo operations fell on imports from abroad, which is 35 percent of the total freight traffic.
The company also noted that over 3 million tons of all cargo was moved in transit containers.
In 2019, the revenues of the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC amounted to 299.8 million manat ($176.3 million).
In addition, Azerbaijan Railways’ subsidiary, ADY Express LLC, together with Georgian partners, transports products of large Russian enterprises to the Turkish market through the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway, the company said.
The total investment in fixed assets of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC in 2019 amounted to over 1 million manat ($588,235). Funds allocated from the state budget within state capital investments amounted to 653.9 million manat ($384.6 million).
