Kazakhstan’s Zhambyl region discloses industrial production value in 2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 11. The value of industrial production in Kazakhstan’s Zhambyl region in 2022 amounted to 859.8 billion tenge ($1.8 billion), which is 10.2 percent more than in 2021, Trend reports, citing the Akimat (municipality) of the region.

As Guldana Zhauynbekova, Head of the Department of Economics and Budget Planning of the Akimat, said at the meeting on the results of socio-economic development of the region, the volume of investments in fixed assets amounted to 423.1 billion tenge ($938.5 million).

"Positive growth dynamics is maintained in many fields, including agriculture (107.5 percent), construction (101 percent), communications (102.7 percent), and trade (102 percent)," she noted.

The Akimat representative specifically pointed out the significant growth of 110.2 percent in the manufacturing industry.

"Investments in the fixed capital of manufacturing industry during the reporting period amounted to 122.7 billion tenge ($279 million), which is 1.6 times more year-on-year. Light industry production volume in the reporting period increased by 3.3 times, chemical industry - by 7.7 percent. The pharmaceutical industry is also developing rapidly in the region, showing a 1.2-times increase," Zhauynbekova added.

Meanwhile, according to Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development, around 149 industrial projects are to be implemented in 2023 all around the country.

The ministry estimates the overall value of the projects to reach 1.1 trillion Kazakh tenge ($2.4 billion) creating around 16,300 work opportunities in the process.
