BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 31. The volume of iodine produced for 2022 by industrial enterprises located in the Balkan region in the west of Turkmenistan has been published, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
According to the information, during the reporting period, the enterprises of the region manufactured more than 760 tons of iodine, exceeding the plan by 2.3 percent.
Furthermore, more than 254 tons of iodine from this volume were produced in the private sector.
At the same time, 1,010 tons of sodium sulfate were produced in the Balkan region of Turkmenistan in 2022.
Turkmenistan occupies one of the first places in the world in iodine production, which creates the appropriate prerequisites for the further development of the chemical industry with an export orientation.
With the increasing dynamics of the construction of industrial and social facilities in Turkmenistan, the industry is becoming one of the major sectors of the economy, which is given an important role in the implementation of import substitution programs and increasing the export potential of the state.
