Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has visited the western province of Kermanshah to express sympathy with the quake-hit people, following the last week’s devastating earthquake.
The 7.3 magnitude earthquake that hit Kermanshah Province, western Iran, on 12 October 2017, has claimed about 500 lives and more injured.
Addressing a gathering of people in Sarpolzahab country in the province on Monday morning, he expressed deep sorrow over the catastrophic earthquake and thanked the nation as well as officials for delivering humanitarian aid to the region.
However, the leader added that he was not satisfied with the level of measures taken by the officials of the country in the region, local media outlets reported.
“The officials in various spheres made efforts [to help the people] and if it was not for those efforts more problems would occur. However, I am not satisfied,” he told the gathering.
