Israeli soldiers shot dead a 17-year-old Palestinian near Ramallah Tuesday night, according to Palestinian security sources, dpa reported.
They said the soldiers stationed at Beit El settlement and military camp, on the western outskirts of Ramallah, opened fire at three Palestinian teenagers from nearby Jalazoun refugee camp killing one and injuring the other two.
The teenagers were walking on the main road that separates their camp from the military camp when the army opened fire at them.
An Israeli army spokesman claimed the Palestinians were getting ready to throw firebombs at the military camp.
The army kept the body of the dead Palestinian while the other two were able to return to Ramallah to get medical attention.
