A magnitude-6.1 earthquake jolted the northern Philippines on Tuesday but no damage was reported or expected, the government said, dpa reported.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the epicentre was located at sea 130 kilometres north-north-east of Tuguegarao City in the northern province of Cagayan.
The quake was also felt in the nearby provinces of Ilocos Sur and Isabela.
