Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 2
By Rufiz Hafizoglu – Trend:
Turkey is not an occupier, but a liberator in Syria, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said.
He was commenting on the military Operation Olive Branch, Turkish media reported Feb. 2.
The purpose of the operation in Syria’s Afrin city is to eliminate the terrorists who threaten both Turkey and the entire region, he said.
Cavusoglu noted that countries that criticize Turkey’s stance should think not about the rights of terrorists, but of civilians, who became their target.
On Jan. 20, the Turkish Armed Forces, together with the Free Syrian Army, launched the Operation Olive Branch in Afrin, Syria.
