The volume of air cargo transportation through Turkey's Antalya Airport decreased by 74 percent from January through May 2020 compared to the same period of 2019 and amounted to 26,203 tons, Trend reports on July 1 referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

During the reporting period, 11,153 tons of cargo were transported through Antalya Airport via domestic flights, which is by 49 percent less compared to the same period of 2019. In turn, 15,050 tons were transported through Antalya Airport via international flights, which is by 81 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.

According to the data, Antalya Airport served 2.3 million passengers from January through May 2020, which is 73 percent less compared to the same period in 2019.

From January through May 2020, 1.3 million passengers were served via domestic flights, which is 52 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

Some 1.05 million passengers were served via external flights at Antalya Airport from January through May 2020, which is 82 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

As many as 20,858 flights were made through Antalya Airport from January through May 2020, which is 64 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

Some 12,423 domestic flights were made from January through May 2020, which is 41 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

The number of international flights through Antalya Airport decreased by 77 percent from January through May 2020 compared to the period from January through May 2019 and reached 8,435.

From January through May 2020, the number of flights decreased by 46.5 percent in Turkey and reached 304,121 flights.

Some 33.7 million passengers were served at all Turkish airports from January through May 2020.

During the reporting period, 304,121 flights were made at all airports of the country and 922,610 tons of cargo were transported.
