Number of companies with Azerbaijani capital registered in Turkey from January through September 2021 surged, Trend reports via the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TOBB).
According to TOBB, this indicator reached 178, up by 81 on annual basis.
The overall capital of the mentioned companies registered in Turkey in the first nine months of this year amounted to 53.8 million Turkish liras ($5.5 million), while over the same period of 2020 this figure amounted to 20 million Turkish liras ($2 million).
The largest number of companies with Azerbaijani capital was registered in Istanbul – 157. Their total capital amounted to 48.1 million Turkish liras ($4.9 million).
Of the total number of registered companies, 75 companies are in the mining sector, 21 - in the field of transport and logistics, 15 - in the industrial sector, 10 are engaged in the sale of real estate, nine - in the tourism sector, eight - in construction, and one - in the field of agriculture.
"The remaining companies with Azerbaijani capital are involved in other sectors of the economy," TOBB said.
The total asset of 75 companies registered in the wholesale and retail trade from January through September 2021 amounted to 18.9 million Turkish liras ($1.9 million).
Some 148 companies with Azerbaijani investments were registered in Turkey in 2020, with 126 of such companies with a total capital of 25.4 million Turkish liras ($2.9 million) registered in Istanbul.
