Azerbaijani parliament sends an appeal to the U.S. Congress on the regard of adoption of of a resolution recognizing the so-called "Armenian Genocide" by the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee.

Appeal has been prepared in the working group under the chairmanship of the Samad Seyidov, chairman of the Milli Majlis standing committee on international relations and inter-parliamentary relations.

The U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee adopted yesterday with 23 to 22 votes a resolution recognizing the so-called "genocide."

Regret on the adoption of a resolution recognizing the so-called "Armenian Genocide" by the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee was expressed in the appeal.

The appeal says that that there was no "Armenian genocide" in the history and this was proven by Western historians. "In fact, the Armenian genocide is the product of a diseased imagination," the document says.

Certainty about the fact that the resolution will be rejected by U.S. Congress is also expressed in the appeal.
